Satilla Community

Moving Ware County children toward a healthy weight will require everyone’s help, and schools play an essential role. A comprehensive approach involving all levels of influencers is essential for impacting childhood obesity. Students, families, teachers, principals, school board members, city and county officials, local healthcare providers and other decision makers must work together for this comprehensive approach to be successful.

Satilla KIDS plans to increase the knowledge in Ware County regarding the epidemic of obesity; height and weight standards, nutritional choices for healthy eating and develop an educational focus on healthy behaviors and obesity prevention in the public for all community groups, ranging from young children to the elderly.

Through We Can!, Science-based educational programs, support materials, training opportunities and other resources are available to support programming for youth, parents and families in our community.
